The event drew a diverse audience of industry professionals, designers, architects, builders, and sustainability enthusiasts, all eager to explore the versatility of PSB® and its wide range of architectural and design applications at DesertBoard’s booth.
Reflecting on the significance of sustainable practices in the construction sector, Mr Hatem Farah, Chairman of ECC Group, remarked, “DesertBoard’s presence at the Saudi Wood Expo underscores our commitment to providing sustainable building solutions for the region. Our engineered zero-formaldehyde boards, designed to align with global green initiatives, offer eco-friendly and durable materials that support sustainable urban development in Saudi Arabia.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the event, Mr Kamal Farah, Director of DesertBoard®, added, “Our dedication to sustainability and innovation is evident in our high-performance building materials, which provide eco-friendly solutions without compromising on quality or durability. We believe that DesertBoard can play a significant role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions and creating a more sustainable future.”
PSB® is manufactured locally in the UAE by utilizing the indigenous, residual materials from date palm trees. These engineered boards offer a compelling alternative to traditional wood by being carbon-positive, high-strength, versatile, and with zero formaldehyde emissions.
The boards are designed for a circular economy, as they can be reused or recycled at the end of their lifecycle, minimizing environmental impact.
DesertBoard’s PSB® can be tuned with diverse performance characteristics to suit a wide range of architectural and design applications. They can be transformed into beams, columns, slabs, and structurally insulated panels (SIPs). With uncompromising safety, PSB® offers a fire rating up to 90 minutes, able to withstand flames and heat, with crucial time for safe evacuation as per EN-1634-1 and UL-10C.
