Our vision & mission

Vision

At the core of our vision lies a resolute commitment to taking the lead in empowering the decarbonization efforts of the construction Industry and the transformation of the built environment. Our goal is to foster a more sustainable world for future generations, while also championing the cause of healthy, formaldehyde-free building Interiors.

Mission

The construction industry significantly contributes to global CO2 emissions, accounting for between 25% and 40% of the total. By upcycling palm waste, often burned or buried, we produce locally manufactured bio-based, formaldehyde-free, durable palm strand boards, PSB, without the need to fell tress. These boards can further be recycled at the end of their life span. Our patented technology at Desert Board allows us to establish a circular economy meeting our goal to support environmental preservation efforts, and uphold global sustainability agreements to help protect our planet for future generations, whilst facilitating healthier structures.

About

Desert Board

In the heart of the desert of UAE, where sustainability is ingrained in our nation’s DNA, we proudly present Desert Board, an innovative engineered wooden board crafted from upcycled palm fronds. Operating from our state of the art factory in KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, we have harnessed the abundant pruning residues of date palm trees to create an authentic nature-based construction material, PSB, Palm Strand Board.

Inspiration for this sustainable journey is drawn from the vision of our esteemed founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who championed tree planting and agriculture, safeguarding our environment for the legacy of future generations. Against deforestation, we strive to preserve our precious green spaces, cherishing the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Our pledge to sustainability, however, goes beyond the ordinary. Desert Board manifests our commitment through it’s production process that uses No-Added Formaldehyde. This visionary move positions us as pioneers in the MENA region, as we proudly offer an E0 and NAF product that protects the health and well-being of our people and our planet.

Desert Board stands as a testament to our dedication to eco-consciousness, innovation, and uncompromising quality. By upcycling palm fronds, we not only minimize waste, but also contribute to our planet’s carbon neutrality. Every PSB produced at Desert Board embodies the ethos of sustainable living, making it the ideal choice for environmentally-conscious projects.
