Best Practices.

To ensure optimal performance in humid conditions, it is recommended to apply a coating to the boards. This will enhance their durability and resilience against moisture, thereby maintaining their reliability in load-bearing applications.

When resizing the boards (cutting to different or smaller dimensions), it is essential to coat the newly exposed edges.

For components being fastened, such as beams, rafters, joists, and trusses, pre-drilling is essential. The diameter of the pre-drilled hole should be smaller than the screw diameter to ensure effective engagement of the screw threads.

During transportation and storage, it is important to protect the PSB® boards from direct exposure to water droplets and precipitation on their edges and surfaces. Ensure that adequate protective covers are provided to maintain their integrity.

For fastening, it is recommended to use screws, nails, or staples with a length at least 2.5 times the thickness of the board, but not less than 50-75 mm. Fastening should be carried out at intervals of 150-300 mm on intermediate supports (depending on roof pitch), 150 mm along board joints, and 100 mm along roof edges.

It is advised not to install decorative tiles or wallpaper directly on PSB® Supreme, nor should plaster work be applied to its surface.

FAQs.

Stalls are temporary structures used to showcase products, services, or brands at exhibitions, retail activations, and trade fairs. They combine functionality with branding and must be durable enough to handle repeated use. Materials like MDF and plywood are common, but eco-friendly alternatives like DesertBoard PSB® are increasingly preferred for their durability and sustainability.

Stalls are assembled, dismantled, and transported multiple times, which puts stress on materials. Weak cores like MDF often warp or crack, leading to costly replacements. Durable materials such as DesertBoard PSB® ensure stalls last longer, lowering lifecycle costs and improving reliability for event contractors.

Stalls are usually built with MDF, plywood, aluminum, and composite boards. MDF is cheap but weak in humid climates, while metals are durable but costly. DesertBoard PSB® offers a modern balance—machinable, eco-friendly, termite-resistant, and carbon-negative—making it ideal for sustainable stall construction.

MDF or plywood stalls may only last for one or two events before needing replacement. DesertBoard PSB® stalls, by contrast, can be reused across dozens of campaigns thanks to their engineered durability. This extended lifespan reduces costs and environmental impact, making them more efficient.

Yes. Sustainable materials now allow for both creative design and environmental responsibility. DesertBoard PSB® supports laminates, digital prints, and CNC finishes, giving brands the flexibility to design attractive stalls while reducing embodied carbon.

Costs vary depending on size, design complexity, and materials. MDF stalls may seem cheaper upfront but require frequent replacement. DesertBoard PSB® stalls cost slightly more initially but provide far greater lifecycle value by lasting longer and reducing waste.

Stalls are often the first interaction between a brand and its audience at exhibitions. High-quality, well-designed stalls create professionalism and trust, while weak or poorly finished stalls harm perception. By using DesertBoard PSB®, brands ensure durable, eco-conscious stalls that enhance reputation.

Yes. Reusable stalls save costs and support sustainability by avoiding single-use waste. DesertBoard PSB® is engineered for reusability, enabling contractors and brands to adapt the same stall structure across multiple events with refreshed finishes or branding.
