Product Suggested: PSB® Supreme

Why PSB® Supreme

  • Superior Moisture Resistance Performance: PSB® Supreme exhibits excellent moisture resistance, with a maximum thickness swelling of 15%. PSB® Supreme, when coated properly, results in a thickness swelling of less than 5%.
  • High Modulus of Elasticity and Rupture Strength: PSB® Supreme demonstrates high performance in terms of modulus of elasticity, measuring 3,500 Newtons per square millimeter (N/mm²), and modulus of rupture, ranging from 16 to 22 Newtons per square millimeter (N/mm²).
  • Enhanced Screw Withdrawal Strength and Reusability: PSB® Supreme provides exceptional screw hold capacity compared to other solutions, with edge hold at 1,350 Newtons (N) and face hold at 1,650 Newtons (N). PSB® Supreme’s mechanical properties allow for repeated use of the same hole without any loss in performance.

Best Practices.

To ensure optimal performance in humid conditions, it is recommended to apply a coating to the boards. This will enhance their durability and resilience against moisture, thereby maintaining their reliability in load-bearing applications.

When resizing the boards (cutting to different or smaller dimensions), it is essential to coat the newly exposed edges.

For components being fastened, such as beams, rafters, joists, and trusses, pre-drilling is essential. The diameter of the pre-drilled hole should be smaller than the screw diameter to ensure effective engagement of the screw threads.

During transportation and storage, it is important to protect the PSB® boards from direct exposure to water droplets and precipitation on their edges and surfaces. Ensure that adequate protective covers are provided to maintain their integrity.

For fastening, it is recommended to use screws, nails, or staples with a length at least 2.5 times the thickness of the board, but not less than 50-75 mm. Fastening should be carried out at intervals of 150-300 mm on intermediate supports (depending on roof pitch), 150 mm along board joints, and 100 mm along roof edges.

It is advised not to install decorative tiles or wallpaper directly on PSB® Supreme, nor should plaster work be applied to its surface.

FAQs.

Exhibition stands and booths are temporary structures built to showcase products and services at trade shows, conferences, and events. They combine branding, functionality, and design to attract visitors and generate leads. Materials like MDF, plywood, and composites are common, but sustainable options such as DesertBoard PSB® are increasingly popular for their durability and eco-credentials.

Exhibition stands are assembled and dismantled repeatedly, which puts strain on materials. Weak cores like MDF may crack or warp after a single use. Durable materials such as DesertBoard PSB® withstand multiple events, ensuring stands remain visually appealing and structurally sound over time.

The quality of a booth reflects directly on the brand. Poorly built stands can appear unprofessional and reduce visitor confidence. Using premium, sustainable materials like DesertBoard PSB® enhances both aesthetics and environmental credibility, making a stronger impression on audiences.

Stands are usually built with MDF, plywood, aluminum, and steel. MDF is affordable but short-lived, while metals are durable but costly and high in embodied carbon. DesertBoard PSB® offers a middle ground—strong, sustainable, and cost-efficient.

Booth lifespan depends on material choice. MDF often lasts for only one show, while DesertBoard PSB® can be reused across multiple events thanks to its engineered durability. This reusability reduces waste and costs, extending booth lifespans significantly.

Yes. Sustainable materials can achieve both environmental and creative goals. DesertBoard PSB® supports laminates, veneers, paints, and CNC designs, enabling branded, visually impressive booths that also reduce carbon footprints.

Costs vary by size, design complexity, and materials. Cheap MDF booths may appear cost-effective but require constant replacements. DesertBoard PSB® booths may cost slightly more upfront but last longer, lowering lifecycle costs and improving sustainability outcomes.

Reusable booths reduce waste, lower material costs, and simplify logistics for brands attending multiple events. DesertBoard PSB® is engineered for reuse, ensuring stands maintain durability and aesthetics across campaigns while aligning with sustainability goals.

Yes. Modern stands are designed to reflect brand identity through logos, graphics, and structural creativity. DesertBoard PSB® provides machinability and finish flexibility, making it easy to achieve custom branding without compromising strength.

Yes. DesertBoard PSB®, manufactured locally in Abu Dhabi, provides an eco-friendly option for stand and booth construction. Made from upcycled palm fronds, it is carbon-negative, termite-resistant, and zero-formaldehyde, making it ideal for sustainable GCC exhibitions.

DesertBoard PSB® combines durability, machinability, and eco-credentials, making it perfect for stands that require both structural strength and creative design. It resists warping, termites, and humidity, ensuring reliable performance in GCC exhibitions.

Manufactured from upcycled palm fronds, DesertBoard PSB® is carbon-negative and zero-formaldehyde. This turns agricultural waste into a durable building material, reducing embodied carbon and helping brands demonstrate ESG responsibility in exhibitions.

Yes. DesertBoard PSB® is engineered for repeated assembly and dismantling without losing strength. This reusability reduces waste and lifecycle costs compared to disposable MDF booths, making it both economical and sustainable.

Unlike MDF, which often swells, chips, and emits formaldehyde, DesertBoard PSB® is termite-resistant, climate-stable, and healthier for indoor environments. It outlasts MDF while providing a smoother, more versatile base for laminates, veneers, and printed graphics.

DesertBoard PSB® is certified by the UAE Al Sa’afat (Dubai Municipality) Formaldehyde Content Certificate (E0) for zero formaldehyde emissions, ensuring healthier indoor air quality. In addition, Wimpey Laboratories testing confirms its exceptional structural properties: Density: Average of 835 kg/m³, Bending Strength: Average of 19.8 N/mm², Modulus of Elasticity: Average of 3626 N/mm², Internal Bond Strength: Average of 0.95 N/mm², Moisture Content: Average of 5.42%, Screw Withdrawal (Face): Average of 1295 N, Screw Withdrawal (Edge): Average of 941 N. These certifications and test results give architects, contractors, and furniture manufacturers confidence that DesertBoard PSB® meets international standards for safety, durability, and sustainability, while delivering high performance exhibition applications.

DesertBoard’s machinability allows CNC cutting, engraving, and custom finishes for logos, graphics, and designs. Its smooth surface ensures premium branding outcomes, helping exhibitors create visually striking and environmentally responsible booths.

DesertBoard’s durability and reusability across multiple events lower replacement and disposal costs. Its local production in Abu Dhabi also reduces transport expenses, ensuring contractors save both money and time on projects.

Yes. DesertBoard PSB® can be produced in various thicknesses and dimensions to meet exhibition requirements. This flexibility ensures contractors and brands can achieve creative booth designs without compromising sustainability.

Indoor air quality is critical in crowded exhibitions. Unlike MDF, which emits VOCs, DesertBoard PSB® is zero-formaldehyde, ensuring healthier air for visitors and staff. This makes it ideal for stands in enclosed exhibition halls.

Using DesertBoard allows brands to highlight sustainability through carbon-negative, locally manufactured materials. This strengthens ESG narratives, improves reputation, and shows environmental leadership in front of eco-conscious audiences.
