Best Practices.

It is recommended to coat the boards to enhance their durability and resilience against moisture, thereby ensuring their reliability in load-bearing applications.

For optimal performance of PSB® Prime, it is recommended to use the boards in environments with low moisture exposure to ensure their longevity.

For components being fastened, such as beams, rafters, joists, and trusses, pre-drilling is essential. The diameter of the pre-drilled hole should be smaller than the screw diameter to ensure effective engagement of the screw threads.

During transportation and storage, avoid direct exposure to water droplets and precipitation on the edges and surfaces of PSB® boards. Adequate protective covers should be provided to safeguard the boards.

Use screws, nails, or staples for fastening, ensuring the length is at least 2.5 times the board thickness, but not less than 50-75 millimeters (mm). Fastening should occur at intervals of 150-300 millimeters (mm) on intermediate supports, depending on specific application requirements.

FAQs.

Commercial displays include fixtures, stands, kiosks, and branded installations used to showcase products and services in retail stores, shopping malls, trade shows, and exhibitions. They must be durable enough to handle frequent use while also being visually appealing. MDF and chipboard are common but often fail in humid climates and emit formaldehyde. DesertBoard’s Palm Strand Board (PSB®) provides a sustainable alternative, offering strength, machinability, and zero-formaldehyde emissions, making it ideal for creating durable, eco-friendly commercial displays

Displays face heavy foot traffic, frequent assembly, and dismantling. Weak materials like MDF can warp, chip, or break, leading to poor presentation and higher costs. DesertBoard PSB® is engineered for durability, resisting termites and environmental stress. Its machinability allows for repeated installation without loss of strength, making it reusable across multiple campaigns. By combining durability with sustainability, DesertBoard ensures displays remain professional, reliable, and cost-efficient over the long term.

Displays shape how customers interact with products, making them a key part of brand storytelling. Poorly built displays can harm perception, while durable and attractive displays encourage engagement. DesertBoard PSB® provides a smooth, machinable surface suitable for laminates, veneers, or printed graphics. This allows brands to create visually striking displays while using a carbon-negative, sustainable material. By improving both aesthetics and environmental responsibility, DesertBoard enhances customer experience and brand value.

Yes. Reusability is a growing priority for brands aiming to reduce waste and costs. Plywood and MDF displays often fail after a single use due to warping or damage during dismantling. DesertBoard PSB® is designed for resilience, enabling repeated assembly and reuse. Its termite resistance and climate durability make it particularly reliable in GCC conditions. For brands, reusing DesertBoard displays reduces expenses and supports eco-conscious marketing strategies.

Retail and exhibition stands are typically made from MDF, plywood, plastics, or metals. MDF and plywood are affordable but weak in humid environments, plastics may degrade under UV exposure, and metals are durable but expensive. DesertBoard PSB® provides a unique balance: lightweight, machinable, sustainable, and resistant to termites and humidity. Manufactured locally in Abu Dhabi, it reduces transport emissions and provides consistent quality for commercial display applications.

Sustainability is increasingly tied to brand reputation. Customers expect eco-conscious practices from modern businesses. By choosing DesertBoard PSB® for displays, brands showcase their environmental responsibility while also delivering high-quality designs. Each board is carbon-negative, zero-formaldehyde, and made from upcycled palm fronds. This not only improves ESG reporting but also communicates authenticity to customers, enhancing trust and loyalty.

High heat, humidity, and termites quickly damage MDF and chipboard displays, leading to replacements after short use. This raises costs and creates waste. DesertBoard PSB® is engineered for GCC climates, resisting pests and environmental stress while maintaining dimensional stability. Its durability ensures commercial displays stay attractive and reliable across multiple campaigns. For brands, this means lower lifecycle costs and improved sustainability outcomes.

Yes. Customization is essential in retail and exhibitions where visuals define brand identity. DesertBoard PSB® supports laminates, veneers, paints, and CNC-cut designs, making it highly versatile for logos, patterns, and creative shapes. Unlike MDF, it maintains strength after machining, ensuring durable custom designs. By offering both flexibility and eco-credentials, DesertBoard allows brands to create unique displays that reflect their identity while promoting sustainability.

Traditional MDF or plywood displays often last only one event before replacement is needed. DesertBoard PSB® extends lifespan significantly by resisting warping, termites, and structural failures. With proper handling and coatings, displays built from DesertBoard can be reused across dozens of campaigns, reducing costs and waste. This extended lifespan makes DesertBoard a smarter investment for long-term retail and exhibition strategies.
